Improve Technology and Initiate Vital Research

Dear friends,

Each year, contributions from alumni, friends, faculty and staff are leveraged to make a huge impact for the College of Business & Economics. As the university’s largest source of unrestricted support, the College of Business & Economics Fund (CBE Fund) helps to support programs and services that are critical to the college - providing student support, upgrading facilities, purchasing new technology for our classrooms, and attracting top faculty.

In a time when only about 42 cents of every dollar we spend comes from the State of California general fund, consistent giving is the cornerstone of the College of Business & Economics supplemental funding Here are a few reasons you should consider supporting the CBE Fund:

There is power in numbers.  All contributions, regardless of size, are important to Cal State LA students.  We are measured on both the number and size of outside contributions. Your donation will be combined with others to make big improvements that are sorely needed in our College.Contributions to the CBE Fund from thousands of donors add up to the largest source of unrestricted funding the university receives.

Annual gifts are used immediately. Gifts to the CBE Fund are put to immediate use to create real impact. Your contribution will fund the greatest and most urgent needs in the College, and will directly impact current services.

Adding value for students.  Nearly 80 percent of Cal State LA students receive some form of financial aid. CBE Fund dollars supplement the scholarships our students receive to help bring a world-class education within reach for many talented students. Contributions are also utilized to help students travel to conference, participate in research, prepare case studies on local companies, and enter competitions in other states.

If you have any questions, and would like further information about making an impact for the College of Business & Economics, please contact Denise Gutierrez, Director of Development for CBE at (323) 343-2800 or via email at
